Description The John Chambers College of Business & Economics at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for a tenure-track (open rank) professor of business beginning in August 2024. West Virginia University and The John Chambers College of Business and Economics is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the academic community. The ideal candidate has earned a Ph.D. in economics, law, or philosophy and possesses teaching and research interests including but not limited to political economy, business ethics, philosophy of social science, and history of economic thought. A successful candidate will be a member of the general business department, be expected to engage in activity with the Kendrick Center for an Ethical Economy. Courses will be drawn from relevant areas within the candidate's discipline. Candidates are expected to embrace a teaching philosophy grounded in experiential learning initiatives. The candidate is expected to effectively teach courses (both in person and online formats) at the undergraduate and/or graduate level and work with colleagues to support and enhance our innovative and engaging program culture, and rapid growth. The expected teaching load for this position is 9 credits per year to fulfill our accreditation requirements, we seek candidates who are capable of publishing in high quality academic journals. Qualifications Qualifications - External *Hold a Ph.D. degree in economics, philosophy, or law or a related field by the time of employment. *Evidence of teaching excellence with proven teaching experience is also required. *Evidence of publishing in high quality academic journals.
