DescriptionThe Forestry and Natural Resources Department in the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Game Bird Technician.In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will perform:Game bird surveys.Data entry and data proofing.Deploying game cameras and autonomous recording units.Length of Assignment - 4 MonthsPay Grade: 10QualificationsAssociate's degree in Wildlife Biology or related field (e.g., Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Natural Resources, Biology) Or equivalent experience.Six (6) months work experience as a field biologist or intern focusing on natural resources, wildlife, ecology, or ornithology. Experience with deploying and maintaining trail cameras, conducting surveys in the evening or at night, and setting up Song Meter acoustic monitors.Knowledge of how to operate trail cameras and acoustic monitors.Ability to follow data protocols, conduct surveys for focal species, hike off-trail, and safely handle a 4WD vehicle.RequirementsResume or Curriculum Vitae.About WVUAt West Virginia University, we pride ourselves on a tireless endeavor for achievement.
