Job Description:

ECS is seeking a qualified Client Systems Engineer (Senior) to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

In this role, you'll perform Systems Engineer functions, including assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues, designing systems, upgrading systems, and maintaining systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Contribute to the maintenance and execution of the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) by providing key technical inputs and ensure SEP alignment to other program plans. Scope the definition and objectives of various technical efforts by identifying system engineering constraints and risks and dividing the program scope and objectiv e into discrete elements. Utilize human factors methodologies addressing UI/UX design of individual graphical user interfaces, overall desktop layout and associated GUI interactions, including the design of user interaction workflows. Conduct system engineering activities to assess and execute appropriate approaches for the evolution of the system including, but not limited to: Establishing event-driven technical plans and identify appropriate measures and metrics, including how, when and where the data will be gathered. Identifying performance measures to assess program health, technical progress, and end-to-end performance. Identifying and documenting system dependencies, functionality, interoperability, and performance Update and provide input for the system Department of Energy integrated architecture including, but not limited to: Update and maintain DOE architectures; reuse/ augment existing architecture data/views to minimize development cost and schedule and maintain configuration control of architectural artifacts and the underlying models. Provide input to the designated Information Support Plan (ISP) and provide DOE artifacts. Document the design of critical links in the DOE architecture model formats, to include synchronization of all architectural artifacts. Perform systems engineering and interface management support related to implementation and evolution of system interface requirements as reflected in the enterprise architecture documentation including but not limited to: Provide inputs to the system's interface management plan for interface management roles, processes, plans, and schedules. Development of proposed changes to applicable DOE products to reflect results of interface systems engineering activities. Conduct technical exchanges with external system interface stakeholders as necessary to develop interface design and development approaches, including identification of external interface modernization strategies as required to manage the long-term evolution of modernized system interfaces. Definition and maintenance of interface requirements specifications which will be the basis for interface development. Daily Activities include:

Design, develop, engineer, and implement solutions to MLS requirements. Perform complex risk analyses which also include risk assessment. Establish and satisfy information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands.
