Position Summary

General Summary/Responsibilities:

The Sr. Operations Float provides support and performs referral scheduling, referral acceptance duties, phone line support and customer service activities. These duties include data entry of referral information; benefit verification, initial authorization of services, initial patient contact, and other duties as assigned. Provide customer service to patients, physicians, and clinical staff regarding patient issues. Provide support for patient care area. Also, responsible for processing requests for service and providing appropriate staff to meet patient needs.

The Sr. Operations Float is also responsible for identified problem assessment, coordination, implementation and resolution.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Prior job title or occupational experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a health care setting (hospital, clinic, rehabilitation center, home care, etc.) is required.

Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A

Preferred experience: Intake and Scheduling experience in HCHB system

Other experience requirements: N/A

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to allow accurate exchange of information.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Excellent customer service skills (internal and external).

  • Medical terminology with three years experience preferred. Demonstrated competency of standard medical terminology.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • On-Call, Weekends and holidays as required
