Transportation Security Administration Transportation Security Officer in Montrose, Colorado

POSITION: Transportation Security Officer

TSO's are responsible for providing security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner. Their duties may also extend to securing high-profile events, important figures and/or anything that includes or impacts our transportation systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: *Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and/or on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft. *Performing searches and screening, which may include physical interaction with passengers (e.g., pat downs, property searches) conducting bag searches and lifting/carrying bags, bins and property weighing up to 50lbs. *Controlling terminal entry and exit points. *Interacting with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries. *Retaining and implementing knowledge of all applicable Standard Operating Procedures!

REQUIREMENTS: *U.S. citizen or national. *18 years of age or older. *High school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate. *Registered for Selective Service. *Able to pass a federal drug screening, medical evaluation and background investigation. *Available to work shifts at odd hours, occasional overtime and the ability to travel for training.

WAGE: The salary range for Montrose, CO (MTJ - Montrose Regional Airport) is $39,576 to $55,231 or $18.96 to $26.46 per hour and includes locality pay of 16.82%.

The Transportation Security Administration is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 for Montrose, CO (MTJ - Montrose County Airport);half of the bonus after onboarding and the other half to be received after one year of service. The amount of the airport's sign-on bonus is subject to change or elimination based on operational needs, however, any applicable sign-on bonus amount will be communicated and agreed upon during the final job offer process.

SHIFT: Full and part time positions available.
