Montrose Memorial Hospital RN Acute Rehab Unit PRN in Montrose, Colorado

Position Overview:

Provides comprehensive nursing care and rehabilitation nursing staff leadership. Assesses patient needs, plans and implements patient care, and evaluates the patient's response to treatment. Manages care within the therapeutic environment and directs the delivery of nursing care by other members of the nursing treatment team.

Essential Functions :

a) Uses acceptable standards of practice based on nursing process and theory to help the

individual/family/group, with complex and unpredictable needs, identify and meet basic age-appropriate health needs.

b) Promotes a climate in which consumers can act in their own interest or intervenes when they are unable to do so.

c) Uses the nursing process and theory to provide age-appropriate individual/family/guardian/designated surrogate education using a wide range of teaching activities to promote health.

d) Works to achieve desired health care outcomes by effectively utilizing human and material resources.

e) Is accountable for the ethical, legal and professional responsibilities related to nursing practice across all the roles, within the scope of practice.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods. Fine motor skills. Visual acuity.

Qualifications & Skills:

a) Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in the State of Colorado.

b) Training & Experience: A minimum of six months experience in acute physical rehabilitation or acceptable related training and experience is preferred. BLS required on hire.

c) Job Knowledge: Further requirements include satisfactorily completion of hospital orientation and in service training program for the acute rehabilitation nursing staff within one month of employment.
