CAE USA INC Director, Strategic Product Management & Technology in Montreal (St. Laurent), Canada

Role and Responsibilities

As Director, Strategic Product Management & Technology, you will be responsible to lead the strategic planning practice, driving the development of the annual strategic plan as well as other strategic projects through targeted market analytics supporting decision making at the executive leadership level and the board of directors.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Manage the annual strategic planning process & calendar, and support development of overall annual Global Technology & Product (GTP) strategic plan.

  • Establish strong relationships with key product leaders across the organization to ensure alignment in strategic vision and supporting opportunities.

  • Provide core data packs, analysis, and templates for development of new products.

  • Facilitate the development of strategic plans with strategic insights, approaches and alignment with overall GTP strategy, based on internal insights and market analysis results.

  • Align GTP Strategic Plan with CAE’s overall alignments and orientations.

  • Challenge GTP’s strategic objectives and plans to ensure we drive continuous performance and overachieve on results.

  • Communicate strategic plans and insights to executives and the board, using presentations and reports to explain decisions and their impact on business performance.

    Business Intelligence

  • Lead data-driven efforts and initiatives focused on profitability improvement, growth, and optimization o f marketable GTP products and services.

  • Build and cultivate a network of SMEs and consultants that CAE can draw on for specific domain expertise, both internally and externally.

  • Produce research and analysis on industry and macro trends.

  • Assist in examining strategic issues facing the business and provide recommendation on emerging opportunities.

    Support GTP governances

  • Lead the team to an efficient, accurate and on-time consolidation of the MBRs content for GTP.

  • Ensure alignment of the governance content before presentations to EMC.

    People & Stakeholder Management

  • Coach and manage performance of team members focusing on results and engagement.

  • Develop and improve capability of team.

  • Identify talent pipeline and plan succession.

  • Build relationships with BU, Sales and BD leaders, customers, and industry partners.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management, finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.

  • Previous experience in strategic planning and execution is essential.

  • Proven experience in strategic product development, product management, or related roles, preferably in a leadership capacity. Previous experience in strategic planning and execution is essential.

  • +15 years of relevant experience.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful strategies.

  • Excellent executive communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strategic mindset with ability to collaborate closely with various functions including Finance, Business Development and Marketing.

  • Excellent skills in business strategy, roadmap definition and prioritization, go to market strategy and tracking business objectives & financial metrics.

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities and deliverables.

  • Must be an organized and detail-oriented individual, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple concurrent projects.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
