We have an opening for a next level full time video journalist position on the dynamic CityNews Montreal team.

Responsibilities:

  • Pitches fresh, original stories

  • Shoots, edits, reports and presents news stories on all platforms - including continuous posting to website, X, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms, throughout the shift to engage audience

  • Organizes material and writes engaging, relevant and concise news stories under tight deadlines according to prescribed editorial style and format standards

  • Presents scripted and unscripted coverage live on-air and on other media platforms from remote locations and/or in-studio environment - including LIVE on social media platforms

  • Generates compelling story ideas and knowledgeable contacts and responds to breaking news situations quickly and accurately

  • Generates compelling multi-media content

  • Posts to digital throughout the day and writes articles for web content

  • Be fluent in social media trends with personal accounts and the knowledge to use it to generate stories and ideas

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience generating powerful, credible original content

  • Proven experience operating a video camera and editing to deadlines

  • Relevant degree / diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution

  • A person who relentlessly pursues a story beyond the headline

  • A person who’s not afraid to push for answers

  • A person who truly understands multi-platform coverage and doesn’t feel bound by the confines of a typical Television reporter package

  • A person who won’t let a dead end stop them from producing a compelling story

  • Excellent knowledge of the cultural and political landscape of the city

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment

  • Must be able to multi-task, deliver great content under tight deadlines and work well under pressure

  • Ability to be flexible in a changing work environment

  • Ability to consistently generate original content ideas

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends

  • On air experience and live presentation experience

  • Must be bilingual (English and French spoken and written)

CityNews Montréal est à la recherche d'un journaliste vidéo fera capable d'utiliser les médias traditionnels et non traditionnels pour fournir une couverture de l'actualité locale. Le journaliste vidéo fera preuve de compétences exceptionnelles en matière de reportage tout en produisant des histoires convaincantes qui feront parler les gens, pour le web, la télévision et d'autres plateformes médiatiques.

Responsabilités:

• Recherche, mis en forme, recueille et vérifie d’informations factuelles – produire reportage chaque jour et d’autre tâches éditoriales

• Compléter entrevues pour reportage, filme et édite du matériel vidéo vous même

• Organise le matériel et rédige des articles d'actualité attrayants, pertinents et concis

à la date limite

• Présente une couverture en direct à la l'antenne et sur d'autres plates-formes médiatiques

• Génère des idées d’histoires convaincantes et des contacts bien informés et répond rapidement et avec précision aux dernières nouvelles

• Génère un contenu multimédia convaincant

• Publie quotidiennement sur nos plateformes web/sociaux

• Maîtrisez les tendances des médias sociaux avec un compte Twitter/Instagram personnel et les connaissances nécessaires pour l'utiliser pour générer des histoires et des idées

Qualifications:

• Minimum de 2 ans d'expérience avérée dans la création de contenu original puissant et crédible

• Expérience avec l'utilisation d'une caméra vidéo et du montage

• Diplôme / diplôme pertinent d'un établissement postsecondaire reconnu

• Une personne qui poursuit sans relâche une histoire

• Une personne qui n’a pas peur de demander des réponses

• Une personne qui comprend la couverture multi-plateforme

• Une personne qui ne laissera pas une impasse les empêcher de produire une histoire fascinante

• Excellente connaissance du paysage politique de la ville, de la province, et du Canada

• Excellentes compétences interpersonnelles et de communication

• Capacité avérée à bien travailler dans un environnement d'équipe et capable de travaille indépendant

• Doit être capable d'effectuer plusieurs tâches à la fois, de fournir un contenu de qualité dans des délais serrés et de bien travailler sous pression

• Capacité à être flexible dans un environnement de travail en évolution

• Capacité à générer systématiquement des idées de contenu originales

• Doit être disponible pour travailler les soirs et les fins de semaine

• Expérience en direct et expérience de présentation en direct

• Doit être bilingue (anglais et français parlé et écrit)

  • Doit avoir un permis de conduire complet et valide
