We are looking for a Senior News Anchor and Managing Editor, to oversee all content and editorial coverage for the Kitco Media digital assets. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a high-paced environment, reporting on what the financial and commodities markets are doing and why. In addition, they will oversee the continuous development of Kitco’s global audience growth in all news channel and Kitco News video strategy, platform partnerships and digital product innovation. The candidate will also oversee the creation of a new features and help create and endure a consistent voice and approach for Kitco News editorial operations.

Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Play a leadership role in the news, opinion and educational content coverage of the precious metals, commodities, and financial markets daily

  • Manage the editorial and production teams including writers, reporters, video producers and social media reporters

  • Establish and meet department standards and guidelines

  • Plan and manage all daily editorial operations, create/manage editorial calendar, allocation of resources to achieve strategic and operating goals

  • Ensure tone and mix of stories is in line with editorial strategy and standards of target brand voice

  • Book and interview top business leaders, contribute to Kitco’s daily multimedia programming, cover key industry events, secure exclusive coverage opportunities, report scoops, and publish feature articles.

  • Anchor newscasts in an energetic and professional manner including conducting interviews and relaying pertinent breaking news information to viewers

  • Organize and lead the coverage of industry conferences

  • Identifying market trends and interesting daily financial markets movements affecting the precious metals and commodities markets

  • Producing daily feature packages that help viewers understand the markets and the biggest news items of the day

  • Perform anchor assignments for all news programs

  • Research and write scripts for news content. Select video and coordinate the editing for material that appears on-air

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain relationships with editorial and opinion talent

  • Build and enhance key internal and external partner relationships, facilitating short to long-term content and editorial planning

  • Read widely, monitor, analyze and stay ahead of the competition

  • Track and meet target metric goals (SEO, UVs, impressions, conversion rates, shares, retention, etc.)

  • Work closely with Ad Sales and Marketing team to drive revenue for the site by creating partnership opportunities

  • Work closely with the product teams to enhance the current digital assets and plan and deploy the next generation platforms.


  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 years' relevant experience in newsgathering/newsroom environment and experience supervising editorial teams

  • 8+ years of news writing/reporting/video producing experience primarily for a digital news platform

  • Must have at least 3 years of on-air experience

  • Strong writing skills and news judgement, experience in business or commodities journalism

  • Have a good sense of the trending topics that will resonate with Kitco audiences and burnish the Kitco News brand

  • Proficient in journalism/writing SEO and social media experience

  • Superior leadership skills with experience leading editorial teams and a demonstrable expertise in setting vision and strategy

  • Ability to focus on smallest details of any given news story - reworking copy or writing headlines, but also be able to zoom out to plot broader strategy for the current site and for Kitco News future content strategy

  • Experience managing a successful website, ideally in the business and commodities news

  • Good understanding of SEO, social channels News feeds and other referral and distribution platforms

  • Strong collaboration skills, ability to work in a matrixed structure and work with peers and across the organization

  • Passionate about leading people and a demonstrated experience with assigning, writing, and editing stories, as well as managing staff and department goals

  • Act like a site owner, have big thoughts and the courage to voice them

  • Have an innovative mind set, understanding of the changing digital media landscape, being passionate and curious about “what’s next”, proactively pushing to develop systems that will keep up with the evolving ways that people get their news
