This role requires full-time on-site presence.

This position is for the Studio Team.

Function

Perform (alone or assisted by other technicians whose work you co-ordinate in conjunction with production teams) duties associated with maintaining production and broadcasting systems/equipment in a cross-functional environment that includes networking, optics, electronics, computer systems, mechanics, machining, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics.

Description of duties:

  • Perform all duties associated with maintaining production and broadcasting systems/equipment (function-testing, configuring, installing, inspecting, diagnosing troubleshooting, repairing and refurbishing).

  • Be responsible, as a contributor, for the technical aspect of the work performed by technicians.

  • Coordinate and review the work of other technicians and provide them with advice.

  • Solve underlying or intermittent problems to ensure program production and broadcast.

  • Run tests and make complex adjustments in order to improve performance of technical facilities.

  • Design, modify and manufacture parts, equipment and tools requiring the use of various techniques (mechanics, machining, welding, hydraulics and pneumatics). Adjust, operate and maintain machining, welding, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment in order to modify and manufacture parts, tools and equipment.

  • Source parts and technical materials, contacting vendors for information as needed and sharing it with the people concerned.

  • Ensure that plans, diagrams and procedures are updated; produce diagrams or sketches as needed.

  • Maintain your skills so that you can perform your assigned duties and keep abreast of technological developments.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance and help develop means and processes enabling better use and easier maintenance of equipment.

  • Advise others on installing, commissioning and using production/broadcasting equipment and systems.

  • Attend meetings as required.

  • Complete the appropriate forms and documents; convey information in person or in writing to ensure proper follow-up and to keep others informed.

  • Familiarize other employees with their duties and work environment.

  • If necessary, carry out all or part of the duties of another job classification within an equivalent or lower salary group, as well as other related duties.

Job requirements:

Education or equivalent knowledge:

  • College diploma (DSC) in electronics technology (audiovisual, telecommunications or computer systems option) or other relevant field

Prior Experience:

  • Five (5) years’ experience, given the multidisciplinary environment and variety of equipment
