Here's how a Scheduler for our Montreal office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

  • Creates, maintains, monitors, and communicates project schedules to the project team and district staff.

  • Contributes to the planning and scheduling process through various phases (preconstruction, construction, system completions, etc.) by supporting the project team with the development and management of project planning and scheduling, including short and long term planning.

  • Facilitates interactive planning and scheduling sessions with project stakeholders.

  • Communicates with site staff and subcontractors to determine the construction progress in combination with site walks, develop project schedules, and provide regular schedule updates based on provided information.

  • Presents schedule updates and complex schedule information to internal and external project stakeholders.

  • Identify, quantify, communicate and present schedule delays, impacts and variances of the various schedules to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Reviews in combination with project management the project cost forecast to validate the project schedule.

  • Understands project controls and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience.

  • 1-4 years of dedicated planning and scheduling with direct hire trades and subcontractors

  • Good knowledge of construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures, and the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and proposal documents

  • Experience with field construction operations and how a project is constructed, including logical sequencing of work through all phases of the project from pursuit to project closeout

  • Ability to complete quantity take-offs and understand productivity rates with implementation in a project schedule.

  • Advanced understanding of planning and scheduling principles, best practices, and techniques

  • Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and to present ideas and content that influence a favorable outcome.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with multiple stakeholders including estimators, field supervision, subcontractors, project team and clients.

  • Affiliated with the planning and scheduling industry by way of membership,certification,speaking at conferences or board positions is considered an asset.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing work for themselves and others, under strict timelines and being flexible to changing needs

  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable systems

  • Advanced working knowledge of Oracle's Primavera P6

  • Proficiency with 3D/4D scheduling tools would be an asset

  • Advanced knowledge of the Critical Path Scheduling method related to the construction industry with the ability to teach.
