Position Summary

Operate and monitor machine functions. Inspect parts for quality as required, maintain clean equipment. Comply with all safety rules.

Essential Job Functions

• Utilize forklift to move parts and fill machines when needed

• Trouble shoot and monitor process

• Run torque test and record and plot SPC charts/computer when applicable

• Monitor quality visually and with appropriate tests or gauges

• Remove finished product

• Must be able to work overtime

• Perform basic adjustments to machines and tooling replacement as required

Essential Skills & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• Effective written and oral communication skills

• Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form

• Ability to read and record torque checks

• Follows appropriate housekeeping procedures according to company guidelines

• Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Competencies (5-10 Critical Areas of Understanding/Practice for the role)

• Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)

• Perform the four operations with common decimal fractions

• Problem solve

• Apply common sense understanding to carry out work instructions written, oral or diagrammatic form

• Basic computer knowledge and ability

Physical Demands

• Walking, standing and moving for 8 hour shift

• Use of hands, arms and fingers regularly, pushing and pulling

• Lifting 5-35 pounds regularly, occasionally 50+ lbs – assisted 2 person lift anything over 35 lbs

Personal Protective Equipment

• Hearing protection

• Safety Glasses

• Safety shoes – slip resistant and safety toe

• Gloves / Sleeves optional

• Other additional PPE may be required when operating machinery or using chemicals.

Working Conditions

Inside working environment, on production floor; floor becomes slippery with oil. Noise levels on production floor require hearing protection, temperature fluctuates dependent on season. Working around powered industrial vehicles. Working with and around oil and chemicals.
