Job Description

The Clinical team is at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare through advanced conversational AI and clinical automation solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design and development of our conversational AI and clinical automation platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and healthcare experts to design, develop, and deploy innovative software solutions that facilitate seamless communication between patients, medical professionals, and healthcare systems. Join our team of experienced back end, distributed computing and data/ml platform engineers in shaping the future of healthcare technology.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex software systems

  • Act in engineering capacity to build and produce complex clinical systems that integrate with AI / ML and medical tooling like Multum, MedRT, Snomed, and more.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize high-quality code to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software products.

  • Participate in architectural discussions and provide technical guidance to ensure the adoption of best practices and alignment with the overall technology roadmap.

  • Work closely with data scientists, product managers, and engineering peers to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver features in a timely manner.

  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software and data engineering, conversational AI, clinical automation, and healthcare IT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud development, architecture, and deployment.

  • Strong development experience in Java, Python, C++, C#, or similar OO languages

  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience driving feature design reviews, documentation

  • Experience in the healthcare technology domain a plus

  • Experience working with knowledge graphs a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
