Army Installation Management Command Food Service Worker NA-02 in Monterey, California

Responsibilities Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures. Sets up cafeteria lines, service tables, hot and cold food items (such as salads, desserts, bread/butter, beverages and etc.) and replenishes them as necessary. Serves food by order and proper proportion. At the end of a meal will break down equipment, clean tables and counters, return food to the kitchen area, and clean kitchen equipment such as sinks, refrigerators, exhaust vents, hoods, windows, ceilings, walls other work spaces. Scrapes, soaks, scours, and scrubs heavy cooking utensils such as mixing bowls or pots. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware. Loads dishwashers. Maintains cleanliness by cleaning and sanitizing trash cans, disposing of trash, sweeping and mopping kitchen floors. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualification Requirements: 1. Ability to understand and follow simple instructions 2. Be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines Education This position does not have an educaiton substitute. Additional Information Area of Consideration: The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is commuting area (50 miles) of the Presidio of Monterey. Commuting area is defined as Monterey County, Santa Cruz County, San Benito County California. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.) This position is located at the Mid-Pom Java Café on the Presidio of Monterey. This is a flexible (intermittent) position which does not offer benefits. All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
