Amazon Principal TPM Automation Development in Monroe, Ohio

Description

Amazon Devices is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) who will be focused on next generation manufacturing automation design, including robotics, vision systems, mobile transport and more. The TPM will manage the full project lifecycle of innovative programs aimed at improving the efficiency and lowering the cost of Amazon’s next-generation device postponement operations in U.S. and EU/UK locations. This position is responsible for the planning and execution of NPI & sustaining programs while serving as liaison between Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing & Supply Chain, Product Development, and External Automation Integrators and Suppliers. Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the effective and efficient design and delivery of complex manufacturing automation for new Amazon Devices, working across all engineering disciplines.

  • Interact with key stakeholders to define and deliver against project goals, including both technical and operational deliverables.

  • Collaborate cross functionally to support extensible solution development and integration.

  • An ideal candidate has experience with complex system design, including experience integrating hardware and software deliverables

  • Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure the appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results

  • Lead the development and decomposition of comprehensive functional requirements & specifications, partnering with Product Management Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain.

  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at the program level

  • Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders

  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities

  • Develop and drive engineering project schedules

  • Deliver programs across all engineering disciplines including Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, Automation, Regulatory Compliance, Systems, and Quality.

  • Partner with external Automation Integrators and Suppliers to successfully deliver on project goals

  • Triage, prioritize, and execute against incoming requests from Product Management and Manufacturing

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience in hands-on work managing complex technology projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience managing automation integrators and suppliers to deliver solutions on time and on budget

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $141,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
