Summary The Corporate Senior Payroll Specialist assists in the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes of multiple companies in multiple locations (national and international) within the Baker Family of Companies. Ensures calculation of wages, overtime, child support and garnishments. Ensures all payroll processing complies with federal, state, and international laws and payments are disbursed timely and appropriately. Roles and Responsibilities The Corporate Senior Payroll Specialist will possess competence in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Assists in the processing of the executive payroll by managing the payroll database, reviewing payments for accuracy, ensuring proper and efficient flow of direct deposits Ensures all payroll data is accurate and up to date Assists with requests for wage verifications and unemployment reporting Assists Payroll Manager with the preparation of reports for management Works closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure payroll accuracy and address any payroll-related matters Updates and document procedures as warranted Follows federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations Requirements High School diploma or equivalent; or 4-6 years of experience processing payroll for a large workforce; or equivalent combination of education and experience Must possess strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially Proficiency in payroll software; Vista and/or Paycor experience preferred Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) Preferred The following competencies are needed to successfully perform this job: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business-related periodicals, journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations Ability to prepare and write routine correspondence Ability to calculate mathematical figures such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and proportions to practical situations Ability to present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and co-workers Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form At Baker Construction, we welcome those who are driven to make things happen.
