Actalent Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Monroe, North Carolina

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance EngineerJob Description

In this role, you will focus on electrical systems and equipment maintenance, reliability, and electrical safety. You will support operations by driving continuous improvement of electrical power systems, electrical controls, motors, drives, and other related components, including quality. Additional responsibilities include supporting the Maintenance organization, continuous improvement efforts, training, daily operations, and ensuring electrical safety. Key responsibilities include: - Reducing equipment failures, operating costs, and production losses. - Developing standard operating procedures to improve quality or eliminate quality problems. - Troubleshooting and resolving issues accurately and efficiently. - Inspecting, certifying, and evaluating on-site operational systems and design modifications. - Monitoring plant electrical maintenance work to ensure conformance to safety and code requirements. - Coordinating project work with department operations, estimating project electrical and instrument costs, manpower needs, and schedules. - Providing and directing technical expertise and assistance to engineers, technicians, and hourly craft personnel. - Determining test criteria and performing/supporting the performance of testing involving the electrical integration of equipment and processes. - Developing or modifying computerized procedures for testing electronic assemblies and systems. - Preparing reports, proposals, and presentations analyzing customer technical requirements and recommending solutions and process improvements. - Preparing specifications, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with selected contractors and vendors. - Overseeing electrical and instrumentation aspects of capital and expense projects. - Designing, testing, installing, and maintaining electronic equipment, components, and machinery in operations areas. - Consulting with management on problems and process improvement objectives.

Hard Skills

  • Solving machinery problems that lead to downtime or poor quality

  • Electrical and instrumentation for CAPEX projects

  • Predictive and preventive maintenance (including vibration analysis and root cause failure analysis)

  • Experience in a foundry and metal melting environment

  • Heavy industrial/metals machinery troubleshooting (valves, pressure sensors, presses, hydraulic equipment)

  • Preventive maintenance of furnaces, hydraulic presses/equipment

  • Equipment installations and repairs

  • Substation experience

  • Developing standards for switch gears

  • Power correction and maintenance

  • Forging experience (large presses and large forming operations)

  • Technical expertise and assistance

  • Accurate and efficient problem-solving

  • Coordination and project management

  • Customer technical requirements analysis

  • Process improvement recommendations

  • Consultation with management

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Monroe, North Carolina.

Work Environment

Foundry (hot) with very large equipment. Safety of the plant and workers is the top priority.
