ENTRY SALARY: $26.88 per hour, plus benefits

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing the development and implementation of athletic programs. Plans, develops, coordinates, promotes, and supervises athletic programs, leagues, and tournaments for youth and adults. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines full- and parttime personnel. Develops budget recommendations and manages approved funds. Develops annual operational calendar. Establishes and develops policies and procedures. Schedules games, practices, and game officials. Coordinates county gymnasium usage for athletic events with Facilities Manager; coordinates shared gymnasium usage with local schools. Supervises athletic events as needed. Compiles data and prepares reports. Prepares and distributes bid packages for uniforms and equipment; purchases all uniforms and equipment. Assists the Director in hiring new employees; identifying, overseeing, and planning capital improvement projects; and purchasing maintenance equipment. Prepares and distributes promotional flyers. Responds to complaints, questions, and concerns. Operates a variety of equipment to assist in the maintenance of parks and facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
