Job Summary

This position will be responsible for the design, implementation, installation, maintenance, programming, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of automation and electrical equipment for the field Electrical, Automation and SCADA systems.

Performs a wide variety of tasks; contributes to process development, implementation and improvements. Acts as a resource for team members with less experience. Thorough working knowledge of technical/specialized tasks and responsibilities. Relies on experience and exercises independent judgment to determine best approach to achieve desired outcomes. Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with company HSE policies and demonstrate the ability to respond quickly and confidently to safety and environmental events.

  • Design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical equipment for the SCADA team.

  • Ensure the reliability, integrity and usability of electrical, automation, and communications equipment.

  • Ensure equipment and control logic conforms to company standards across all areas whenever possible.

  • Serve as liaison and technical resource for field operations personnel, I&E contractors and SCADA team members.

  • Troubleshoot data and connectivity issues at the wells and facilities and provide technical support to correct issues.

  • Coordinate and direct I&E contractors on daily activities and projects.

  • Assist with startups, project work, and data verification.

  • Maintain effective communication with all levels of employees across the organization.

  • Maintain accurate records.

  • Travel to remote locations and work after hours may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

  • Valid Driver's license.

  • Experience with field operations of electrical and automation systems

  • 5 years I&E experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Housing within 50 miles of the assigned field office

  • Experience in PLC programming

  • Current Journeyman or Master Electrician License.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.

  • Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions

  • Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.

  • Regular bending, crouching, pulling and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.

  • Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.

  • Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.

  • Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
