JOB OVERVIEW:

The Key Account Specialist is responsible for managing relationships with assigned accounts, overseeing account-specific projects, and supporting the sales team in fulfilling day-to-day requirements such as contract management and forecasting. This role involves working closely with Key Account Executives and the broader sales team to ensure the efficient and successful management of key accounts. The Key Account Specialist is an integral part of the team managing activities related to the growth of their team\'s accounts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage relationships with assigned accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention, including problem-solving as needed to maintain the highest levels of customer service.
  • Manage demand planning for assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Product Line Management and Product Development, as needed.
  • Manage contracts for key accounts, including generating, ongoing management, and clean-up.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and changes and identify opportunities for growth within key accounts.
  • Monitor and report on key account performance, using data to make informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Provide hands-on management of projects for assigned accounts. This includes preparation of project goals and timelines, coordination of required resources, preparation and pricing of product formulas, preparation, and delivery of product samples, and coordinating customer feedback.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient progress of projects, identifying and addressing any obstacles or delays as necessary.
  • Infrequent travel to customer accounts or trade shows with Key Account Executives.

JOB EXPERIENCE

:

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Takes ownership, with a bias towards execution
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • High level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach.
  • Experience in dietary supplement, CPG, or food ingredient industry a bonus
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing contract renewals
  • Must be tech savvy and a quick learner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, e-mail.

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree-Bachelor\'s degree in business administration or related business discipline preferred
