Manager Manufacturing Engineering

The department's purpose is to create prerequisites for efficient and competitive production, through production preparation process, production technology development and continuous improvement. Our vision for the production site is to become best in class in manufacturing where manufacturing engineering has a key role.

We are on a transformation journey towards our vision and are looking for a Manager Manufacturing Engineering with strong production technology knowledge, and managerial experience, to build up technical capabilities and develop competence and people.

The main responsibilities of our Manufacturing Engineering department are around development and continuous improvements of manufacturing processes. Another important part is the industrialization of new products, processes and equipment towards our production. You will be a member of the management team Mölndal Operations and reporting to our Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coach your team toward decided targets for production and site Mölndal, which includes production preparation deliverables, validations, and projects.

Main tasks:

  • Coordination of assignments to support daily production incl monitoring of progress to assure compliance.

  • Leading “year over year” efficiency and productivity work in close corporation with Production Managers.

  • Optimization of production flow and layout by continuous improvement and development of manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment.

  • Implementation and conducting of production engineering methods and techniques such as balancing, calculation and evaluation of cycle times, takt times, throughput, etc.

  • Introduction of new products and product changes, as well as handling of process deviations.

  • Implementation of Lean Production- and Design for Manufacturing principles.

Background / Qualifications:

  • an academic background, preferably in Mechanical/Automation Engineering or equivalent with experience from production development.

  • more than10 years of management experience with personnel responsibility and experience of project management

  • proven leadership skills in leading teams and experience in managing the change

  • knowledge of manufacturing process development incl manufacturing engineering tools and methods such as balancing, time setting, flow optimization, lean, etc

  • some experience from testing/validation, preferably within life science or other regulated industry.

  • documentation and communication skills, in English as well as in Swedish.
