This is a salaried/exempt position with an annual estimated salary of $78,832.00 which will be based on a candidate’s work history and experience.

Interface with the various Center directorates, divisions, and branches, and will provide specialized communications, science writing/editing, and outreach skills on behalf of the work conducted at Ames. The Science and Communications Specialist will develop marketing/public engagement strategies and media relations strategies, including arranging media interviews, drafting news releases, media advisories, talking points, fact sheets, articles for the NASA and Ames web pages and a variety of other public affairs products. The Science and Communications Specialist provides this support for NASA projects and seeks ways to engage the public, be included in a broader picture of "cool" science, and promote all interesting science and mission-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science, within related discipline from an accredited institution or equivalent experience; plus five years of applicable professional experience.
