Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the management of the factory maintenance programs and personnel, under the direction of the Factory Engineer. Maintenance activities must ensure that employee health and safety, product safety, and the protection of the environment are never compromised, and that all maintenance activities enhance product quality, plant performance, and the business objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist work group in troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining facilities systems which include refrigeration equipment, boilers, fire systems, HVAC equipment, waste water, compressed air equipment, vacuum pump system, high voltage switch gear, and direct the maintenance of facilities/building and exterior grounds and landscaping.

  • Champion the factory safety objectives through leadership and effective communications.

  • Assist the Plant Manager and Safety Management Representative in the implementation of any safety related projects, upgrades, or improvements. Ensure there exists within the maintenance team an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations. Assist work group to implement and monitor an effective PM program and monitor the program on existing equipment and new equipment acquisitions. Ensure that work orders and work assignments are completed in a timely fashion by the maintenance department.

  • Oversee the operation and tracking of the parts room and maintain the required inventory of spare parts. Maintain a record of equipment repair costs. Maintain good human relations skills, communication skills, and leadership qualities with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.

  • Direct, coordinate, and manage scheduled maintenance and machine change-overs in conjunction with scheduled production.

  • Assist group in developing and meeting training needs and develop overall programs to upgrade operating and maintenance skills and effectiveness.

  • Prepare studies and carry out assignments as requested by Engineering and Maintenance Manager.

  • Be available for assisting with specific assignments within the Engineering and Maintenance department.

  • Assist with planning of the annual maintenance and repair budget while assisting in the preparation of the annual investment budget, and maintaining M&R budget.

  • Maintain dialogue with counterparts at other Nestle facilities to benefit from experiences and design proposals.

  • Responsible to review and evaluate personnel concerning performance, safety, and training.

  • REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

  • BS in Engineering or equivalent experience with college level education.

  • EXPERIENCE: Preferred Degree/Diploma in engineering, preferably mechanical / electrical / chemical / process engineering.

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in a technical field, preferable in food manufacturing or consumer goods industry, including Maintenance responsibilities

  • SKILLS: Strong technical and managerial skills In-depth knowledge of food processing plant and technology

  • Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering (OSH&R) Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) Industrial Services and Energy Management (NEMT)

  • The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000 to $100,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
