Description

We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to become a part of our retail team located in Modesto, California. The role involves managing customer applications, maintaining precise customer credit records, and handling customer inquiries. Other duties include monitoring customer accounts and taking the necessary action.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the process of compiling invoices for weekly check runs and deal with any arising A/P issues.

• Input invoices, checks, and other documents into relevant systems with accuracy and efficiency.

• Administer the verification and mailing processes of checks, including expediting special handling.

• Ensure daily processes and controls are executed in line with company policies and regulations.

• Handle department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it daily.

• Provide support within the accounting team as needed.

• Reconcile monthly vendor statements and shipping vendors/statements.

• Maintain company vehicle lists and registrations.

• Handle daily customer deposits and weekly cash reconciliation, along with bank deposits.

• Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice expenses.

• Resolve purchase orders, contract invoices or payment discrepancies while maintaining documentation.

• Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting transactions.

• Ensure invoices are charging applicable sales tax and maintaining invoices for quarterly sales tax report.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar position

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in conducting and managing check runs

• Familiarity with coding invoices

• Strong data entry skills

• Experience in invoice processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
