Clean Harbors Training Coordinator in Missouri City, Texas

The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Onboarding and employee training for the Sales and Services line of business at Clean Harbors. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Onboarding Training Center, which is a two week onsite Regulatory and DOT training program for all new hires. There are multiple Training Centers across the country. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, clear communication and flexibility with ever changing needs.

  • On a rotating basis, visit all project sites to ensure that employees are following Clean Harbors Safety Policies, Procedures, Standards and Practices as well as meeting all other related legislative guidelines and permits;

  • Assist in the development, implementation and compliance of Clean Harbors practices in areas such as work standards, health and safety;

  • Coordinate all Onboarding Training logistics, to include: travel accommodations, scheduling rosters, catering, preparing training materials, ordering PPE and any other materials required for training participants, scheduling trainers, communicating effectively any changes.

  • Follow direction from multiple stakeholders, being adaptable and agile as issues come up or initiatives pivot;

  • Presenting to large training audiences on HR topics, and work with participants (hand-on) in setting up computer systems, login credentials, and any questions or concerns about employment;

  • Work closely with outside vendors, HR partners, Health and Safety, and Transportation Compliance and liaison with clients to ensure all training issues are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Audit operation of the equipment utilizing appropriate audit checklists, identify any issues and address accordingly (cleanliness, equipment condition, safety).

  • In conjunction with HSE, oversee and audit all aspects of safety ensuring all staff follow Clean Harbors Policies, Procedures, Standards and Best practices.

  • Under the general direction of the Director, ensure that all aspects of assigned areas are operating within operational guidelines as it relates to required equipment, employee head count, etc.;

  • Assist in the training of staff in remote locations, providing coaching, mentoring and support to all employees.

  • Present to management the progress of any current initiatives, i.e., certification program and next quarter goals.

  • Communicate to management any opportunities for training and development improvement.

  • High School Diploma Required

  • Relevant experience (administrative, organization, coordinating, planning)

  • A valid Driver’s license;

  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments;

  • Resourcefulness, adaptability and logistical mindset;

  • Effectively communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with clients, co-workers, and management;

  • Excellent computer troubleshooting skills;

  • A team player who is able to provide support, motivation and encouragement to other members of the team;

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills coupled with the ability to work independently and exercise discretion when making decisions;

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills;

  • Ability to work confidently and competently under pressure and deadlines;

  • Leadership experience;

  • Intermediate computer skills with MS office applications (Word and Excel).

  • Knowledge of industry Best Practices, as well as occupational hazards and standard safety precautions;

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
