State of Montana Lottery Sales Representative- Region 2 Missoula in Missoula, Montana

Hey there! We’re on the lookout for a driven, persuasive, self-motivated individual with excellent customer service and organizational skills to join our Montana Lottery team as a Lottery Sales Representative (LSR) for West central Montana! As an LSR, you would provide outstanding customer service to our network of retail accounts including convenience, grocery stores, taverns, and casinos, while helping us to maximize sales of lottery products in sales region 2 (see below). You’ll be part of a dynamic, energetic, and supportive team based in all corners of the state. We’ll give you all the tools you need to succeed, including dedicated use of a state vehicle, laptop, iPad, and phone. All travel expenses will be covered. Speaking of which, you’ll get to know beautiful southeastern Montana like the back of your hand, as travel would comprise about 80% of your time. The ideal candidate would reside in or around Missoula. You may also be needed to participate in local events. What we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Sales, Business, Finance, or a related field; Two years of job-related experience in sales, customer service or marketing; Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Principles and practices of sales, marketing, promotion, retail sales, point of sales materials, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving techniques. Convenience, grocery and petroleum store industries and their management practice; as well as bars/taverns and casinos; other retail industries, including but not limited to shopping malls, mass merchandisers, and specialty retailing. Advertising concepts; Retailing terminology, accounting methods and security procedures used in specific retailing businesses. Responsibilities: Persuade retailers to increase sales and successfully convey the importance of new promotional programs and products. Promote the Montana Lottery in a positive manner in all interactions. Research, gather, analyze, and interpret a variety of data from several sources and incorporate the information into strategic short and long-term plans for retail accounts. Be self-motivated and keep to task with remote supervision. Assist in the creation and implementation of strategic plans to achieve goals and objectives. Understand all features of Montana Lottery products and services. Drive and work in all weather conditions with the physical ability to carry and adjust equipment in the vehicle. Operate a motor vehicle under adverse conditions; and maintenance of a good driving record; Arrange promotional materials to best utilize space and attract the public. Always deliver top-tier, professional customer service. Drive short and long distances and keep to route plans as designed with the Sales Manager. Develop and deliver customized programs and professional presentations to retailers and corporate executives. Exercise judgment and discretion to establish and maintain strong working relationships. Operate personal computers, Microsoft Office products, iPad tablet and iPhone devices while always keeping all state-issued equipment in good working condition. Effectively communicating both verbally and in writing. Analyze data of the assigned region and propose changes. Enforce rules, laws, policies, and procedures related to the Montana Lottery. This position has a lifting requirement of up to 30 lbs. due to the requirements of the job to regularly receive shipments of materials, transfer them to storage, and distribute them to retailers.
