Canadian Tire Manager, Crossborder Transportation in Mississauga, Ontario
What you’ll do
As the Manager of Cross Border Transportation within the International Transportation Division, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the transportation of goods between the US/Mexico and Canadian markets. You will lead a dynamic team focused on carrier capacity management, service level optimization, and financial budget commitments for cross-border operations. Your leadership experience in managing and developing others with a focus on continuous improvement and strategy planning will ensure the successful implementation of strategic initiatives that align with Canadian Tire’s broader Supply Chain goals.
Lead and engage team members providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to achieve key Supply Chain service levels, manage cost, and maintain daily operations
Manage and optimize carrier capacity, performance, and relationships for US/Mexico transportation to meet the needs of Canadian Tire’s business
Execute the company’s daily inbound plan while optimizing cost
Oversee transportation service levels to ensure timely and efficient delivery to all customers
Manage and negotiate carrier contracts that result in optimized carrier allocations; achieved by leveraging market and industry research, and formal sourcing/RFP events
Identify, analyze and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance processes and decision-making, reduce cost, improve lead times, and/or improve service level
Lead efforts to identify and improve lead time gaps, using carrier data to build delivery and visibility tools
Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams through open communication and collaboration
Conduct annual performance assessments, develop growth plans, and set objectives for team members
Maintain regular communication with AVP, Team Leads, individual team members, and external stakeholders to support effective operations
Provide a positive influence in developing a team environment that embraces innovative solutions, growth and belonging.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Business, Business Administration or similar
Minimum 5 to 7 years working in related fields with supply chain or transportation experience
Working knowledge of International Transportation and Customs requirements
Demonstrated leadership, project management, and critical thinking skills
Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written
Strong ability to collaborate with team members and cross-functional stakeholders to meet objectives
Able to lead with excellence through ambiguity and support change management efforts
Knowledge of Canadian Tire Supply Chain an asset
