What to Expect:

We are looking for an Account Manager - eCommerce based at our PetCare Division in Mississauga, Ontario reporting into the Senior Manager, eCommerce. As an Account Manager - eCommerce , you will be responsible for: customer management, commercial planning, developing retail digital media plans & omnichannel strategies, collaborating on digital shelf strategies to improve product findability, competitive analysis, sales projections and analytics/reporting. The primary goal is to grow sales, market share and profit for the eCommerce channel on your respective accounts.

A day in the life:

  • Retail Media Negotiations & Strategies: Build and co-lead full year Retail Digital Media plan in partnership with Senior Manager & Sales Account Teams. Responsible for determining the internal/external priorities and leading the partnership discussions with the customer to reach a mutually acceptable agreement that delivers value and ROI for our brands.

  • Omnichannel Strategy Development: Formulate and implement a strategic retail media & search plan to maximize volume, profit, and share. Leads the integration of eCommerce strategies into channel playbook.

  • Account Management & Partner Relationships: Manages the tactical execution of strategies to deliver on sales and share expectations. Build strong relationships with customers & external agency partners to deliver value and ROI for the organization. Execute both external and internal daily management tasks including, but not isolated to, sales reporting, promotional programs, competitive analysis, assortment inventory tracking, catalogue availability and marketing optimization.

  • Market Insight/Analytics: Data-driven decision-making is at the core of successful eCommerce management. Monitor and identify external competitive activity, trends, market issues and opportunities. Analyse the key promotional activities and business trends to understand results, inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

  • eComm Category & Merchandising: Co-lead the development on eCommerce best practices & guidelines for emerging retailers (including but not limited to taxonomy, site architecture, groupings, title strategies, product pages, subscribe to save, search results, etc.). Influence retailers on strategic changes to grow the category & position Purina as the brand partner of choice.

  • Search: Co-lead the planning & execution of best-in-class search strategies, ensuring effective positioning of Purina brands in both paid and organic placements for specified customers while ensuring alignment to corporate search strategy.

Role Requirements

  • 3+ years in consumer-packaged goods and/or eCommerce retailer experience

  • Solid understanding of eCommerce platforms, digital/retail advertising (with an Omnichannel focus), and search engine optimization (SEO) to optimize product visibility and drive conversion.

  • Effective communication and leadership skills are required to express analytics and deliver presentations to various levels within the organization and externally to customers.

  • Proficient in gathering data/analytics and storytelling to deliver actionable insights.

  • Strong cross-functional experience and relationship building skills (internal & external).

  • Excellent vendor & partnership management skills, including past negotiation experience.

  • Advanced computer skills, specifically with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. SAP and Power BI is an asset.

  • Marketing experience in retails is an asset

  • Managing P&L and trade spend is an asset.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment and eager to learn.

  • Completion of a university degree in Business Administration or any related field (MBA is an asset)
