Curtiss-Wright Corporation Contracts Specialist in Mississauga, Ontario

Contracts Administrator

Reporting to the Manager, Contracts, this position requires an individual with a proven track record of negotiating, managing and structuring domestic and global proposals and/or contracts within a shared services model. In addition, you will have experience with Canadian export compliance, US extra-territorial export compliance, the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, and the Canadian Contract Security Program.

Your Challenge:

CONTRACTS (70%)

  • Provide proposal support to Sales/Marketing and Proposal Manager under the guidance of the Manager, Contracts

  • Maintain records and filing systems, including documenting the review of various agreements.

  • Support the Manager, Contracts in the negotiation of complex contracts.

  • Work with internal and external parties to address concerns during proposal and contract negotiations

  • Ensure contracts reflect accurate positions against proposal responses or negotiated positions

  • Structure contracts that establish business relationships with customers

  • Structure subcontracts that establish business relationships with vendors

  • Prepare legal documents such as Non-disclosure, Bailment, Technical Assistant Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, certifications, agent agreements and contract amendments

  • Follow established processes for the protection of the company’s contractual posture and adherence to company policy.

  • Support the interpretation of terms and conditions

  • Support the regular interaction and provision of business and contractual advice and solutions, with executives, managers, customers and vendors

  • Participate in resolving scope change as required by Program Managers

CONTRACT SECURITY PROGRAM AND CONTROLLED GOODS (20%)

  • Develop/maintain Security Orders, Technology Control Access Plans in accordance with Government or contract requirements

  • Submit applications and maintain personal and government facility clearance including renewals

  • Maintain Company Security Officer designation and associated duties

  • Maintain Designated Official designation for Controlled Goods Program and associated duties

  • Provide training to the business unit on a regular basis.

  • Submit and manage Visit Requests to domestic or foreign agencies

  • Manage visitor requests to company facility

  • Manage Security Aspect Letters and provide guidance to project teams

EXPORT (10%)

  • Support the accurate and timely export application process using the Canadian Government’s EXCOL system for proposals and/or contracts and/or orders, including customer / vendor returns.

  • Support the coordination of export responses to vendors, such as End Use Statements

  • Support outside audits of site export control policies and procedures

  • Support the export control classification of Indal products and technical documentation under Canadian export regulations and/or US export regulations, as applicable

  • Coordinate as necessary with Curtiss-Wright Global Trade Compliance organization

Your Expertise:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, regulations, laws, industry standards

  • Ability to interpret contracts to create flowdown for vendors or subcontracts for subcontractors

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Knowledge and practice of Principle based negotiations

  • Diversified team player with a strong customer orientation, including a win-win philosophy in dealing with customers.

  • Ability to export classify technical data and hardware an asset

  • Operates with minimal supervision dealing on a day-to-day basis with executives, peers, sales force, customers and vendors.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of related work experience, preferably within the Aerospace, Maritime or defense industry or technology design and manufacturing field

  • Thorough knowledge of all appropriate ethical standards regarding contracting actions

  • Multi-disciplined background or exposure to several operational disciplines, e.g. program management, manufacturing, project engineering, supply chain, sales administration

  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR/SACC provisions an asset

  • Knowledge of CGP and CDN export, U.S. extra-territorial export regulations an asset

  • Knowledge of Contract Security Program, Security Manual and applicable regulations an asset

  • Knowledge of foreign Industrial Security Programs an asset
