Acosta Group Business Intelligence Manager in Mississauga, Ontario
DESCRIPTION
The Manager, Business Intelligence position will focus on supporting our clients by providing KPI and sales scorecards as well as insights and analysis to help support business initiatives. Incumbent must adapt well to quickly changing environments and collaborate effectively with other team members by sharing new and exciting discoveries related to discovery analysis and process improvements. This position entails working closely with our clients and leadership team to develop and implement retail and HQ reporting strategies. This is a client facing position.
The Manager, Business Intelligence is responsible for leading a team of Analysts. This includes assigning and delegating tasks, setting clear goals and expectations, managing performance, and providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support data-driven decisions to keep Clients’ competitive in the marketplace thru the utilization of the following data sources and tools. (POS data, Retail data, Shipment, Nielsen, Kantar, Etc.)
Develop and maintain client facing scorecards, measuring progress against defined KPIs. Provide visualization, analysis and next step recommendations.
Responsible for data accuracy- analysing data for completeness, format, and conformity.
Present data in clear and meaningful fashion, stay up to date on data visualization trends and theory. Required to interface directly with clients to present results and discuss KPIs.
Work closely with business and client managers to ensure quality results are delivered
Keep abreast of clients KPI's, strategies, innovation, and other important information.
Participate in client meetings / QBRs to provide business analysis
Leadership- set clear goals and expectations, inspire and motive team members to achieve their best, manage performance and provide guidance, support and development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements:
College / University degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or related field
Certificate or certification in Data Visualization, Data Analysis, or related field
Work Experience Requirements:
3 – 5 years related experience
Previous leadership skills a bonus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Demonstrates proactive engagement in communication with exceptional active listening skills, fostering meaningful and productive dialogue
Proactive and detail oriented. Communicate and engage with client / customer / analyst teams
Must be able to make presentations coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
Documents and follows up on meeting results, client/customer approvals, and owners of
action items
Coordinating project activities- communicates project goals, timelines, and milestones
Advanced Power BI skillset (data transformation, DAX, data flows, visualizations).
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Formulas, Power Query, lookups)
Prior experience working in the CPG industry a major asset.
Working knowledge of querying an SQL database an asset.
Experience with KPI scorecarding and data modelling
Responsible for data accuracy - analyzing data for completeness, format, and conformity
Experience with Nielsen Discovery, Answers an asset.
Leadership skills- able to effectively set expectations, prioritize, manage performance and develop skills sets
Communication- able to facilitate team and 1-2-1 meetings, demonstrate active listening skills and provide construction feedback
Problem solving- able to identify and address challenges promptly and effectively, make informed decisions based on critical thinking and analysis, monitor and evaluate effectiveness of solutions.
