Location: Mississauga, ON

Role Type: Hybrid/Remote

Travel Requirements: In this position, you must be able to travel throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico as may be required from time to time.

Southwire Job Description

The Account Manager will act as primary contact in support of assigned customers for all steps in the customer order process including pre and post-sale activities.

Job Duties

• Builds and maintains a strong relationship with the assigned customers to grow and retain business, promote revenue growth opportunities and maintain positive internal working relationships to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.

• Quote prices, availability of products along with follow-up on quotes utilizing established guidelines and processes. 

• Order entry, communication of order confirmations, communication of status of deliveries and backorders, returns, credits and disputes.

• Coordinate with sales teams and product managers on large quotes to balance opportunity with capacity and growth objectives.

• Take initiative to investigate and coordinate assistance from sales team, technical support and/or product managers to resolve customer inquiries.

• Responds quickly to changing customer needs and requirements.

• Independent decision-making skills exemplifying good business acumen and ethics.

• Utilize telemarketing skills to enhance customer relations and build rapport.  Proactively contact key customers to generate inquiries and opportunities.

• Eager and willing to become familiar with all aspects of Southwire’s products and services.

Education, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Education Level: High School Diploma

Years of Experience: 1 to 3 years

Field of Expertise: Prior Inside Sales/Wholesale/Business to Business is preferred

Certificates: College/University Degree or a combination of education and experience is required

Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates:

• College/University Degree or a combination of education and experience is required.

• Prior inside sales experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of Electrical and Hardware industries is an asset but not mandatory.

• Must possess excellent organizational and project management abilities, along with exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required.

• Independent decision-making skills exemplifying good business acumen and ethics.

• Accuracy focused, detail-oriented and self-motivated.

• Proven accountability, dependability, and consistent follow-through with customer needs.

• Must possess problem-solving skills, including the ability to provide sound solutions to market challenges and customer needs.
