The primary purpose of this position is:
To lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.
Duties
:
Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers.
Performs work.
Performs installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of highly complex pneumatic, electronic and mechanical controls..
Performs operation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of various special utility systems including liquid fuels systems, compressed air systems, fire detection and suppression systems, wastewater and water systems, booster pumps, motors, control panels, sprinkler heads, and water storage tanks/reservoirs IAW manufacturers instructions, NFPA, UFC, federal and state permits and regulations.
Recruitment Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
Working knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s)
Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and equipment common to trades and labor work performed by the group being led.
Skill in performing the trade and /or labor work of the group being led.
Ability to lead a team of three or more labor or trade employees.
Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.

Shift work may be required.
The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evening, weekends, and holidays.
The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid drivers license is required for the position.
Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance as a condition of employment.
A pre-employment physical is required.
Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a North Dakota State Journeymans Plumbing License, Water Distribution and Water Treatment Level 1 License, and Waste Water Treatment and Waste Water Collection Level 2 License.
Incumbent will be required to attend the AF Liquid Fuel Advanced Course and Supervisor Tank Entry/Tank Cleaning course.
In accordance with Federal law, incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an American Water Works Association Backflow Prevention and Testing License or equivalent.
Incumbent will be required to attend the USAF Fire Suppression Systems, Fire Alarm Maintenance Course or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
