Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies according to established protocols and the Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) radioactive materials license. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work under the direction of the radiologist, nuclear medicine physician, and/or cardiologist holding a valid NRC license to perform nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision while following the quality control guidelines and practices as set by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate of Nuclear Medicine Technology program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT).
Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine technology.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: Two year’s experience in related field.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Registered Technologist (RT) certification awarded by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (N) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification awarded by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
