Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Lab Medical Technologist (MT) Supervisor supports leadership with the management of staff and day-to-day operations for the assigned area of responsibility. In this role, the individual is accountable to deliver established goals, utilizes good judgment to assess and escalate situations when warranted and utilizes knowledge and skills in the area of expertise while maintaining expected quality standards. The Lab MT Supervisor must act as a leader by building constructive relationships and by supporting department leadership in developing, setting and executing department goals and the strategic plan in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System’s (MCHS) mission statement.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Chemical, Physical, or Biological science.
Preferred/Optional: Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) program accredited through the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree plus two years’ previous work experience relative to the technical function of the role.
Preferred/Optional: Two years’ supervisory or management experience.
