Summary:

The Reputation Risk Manager will lead a team that supports 2nd Line Reputation Risk Program and will assist with the independent oversight of reputation risk by collaborating with various business units and analyzing data to identify, measure, monitor, control, and report reputation risk. Reputation is one of Huntington’s seven risk pillars and is defined as the risk to current or projected financial condition and resilience arising from negative public opinion.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, quarterly reputation risk assessment, review of new or modified products and services, assessment of the applicable control environment, maintenance and implementation of the reputation risk governing documents (framework, policy, procedures), review and implementation of the reputation risk taxonomy, provide oversight and effective challenge for key reputation risk processes across the enterprise. This high-visibility role involves building and maintaining effective relationships with business units across the Company, with key areas including Investor Relations, Community Development, Marketing, Communications, Customer Complaints, Conduct Risk, Legal, ESG, Climate Risk, Incident Response Teams, Third Party Risk, first- and second-line risk management teams, and various other areas from which reputation exposure could arise.

Detailed Description:

  • Lead and participate in the quarterly reputation risk assessment process

  • Establish and/or maintain relationships with business units across the company in order to understand and assess reputation exposures

  • Assess control environment and provide oversight and effective challenge for key reputation risk processes across the enterprise

  • Maintain, develop and implement reputation risk governance framework, policy, procedures

  • Assist with the review and implementation of the reputation risk taxonomy

  • Monitor changes in external environment (i.e. economic, geopolitical, regulatory) to assess potential reputation risk impacts

  • Participate in the annual risk appetite and metric calibration process and provide effective challenge to various segments and pillars, as needed.

  • Assess reputation risks of new or modified products and services, and strategic initiatives

  • Complete ad hoc research or documentation requests including, but not limited to, industry research, gap assessments, postmortem analysis of incidents and lessons learned, preparing management presentations and participating in projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in a risk management, audit, or related field in a large bank (over $100 billion in asset size)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior risk assessment experience is highly preferred

  • Experience with Archer (GRC) tool is highly preferred

  • Strong, executive level communication skills

  • Experience in analysis and aggregation of quantitative and qualitative data and ability to summarize key takeaways

  • Experience within a business / function that manages reputation risk, which may include investors, analysts, customers, communities, regulators, or other such stakeholders

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.
