Ebenezer Activity Assistant in Minnetonka, Minnesota


We are looking for an Activity Assistant! The Activities Aide/Assistant reports to the Activities Director and would assist with the implementation of quality pre-planned leisure and social events programming, designed to support senior living residents in maintaining their personal potential physically, socially and mentally.  This position includes the following :

  • 56 hours in two weeks

  • Flexible schedule Days/early evening hours

  • Eligable for full benefits - (including tuition reimbursement of $5,250 per year, paid time off, matching retirement monies and more)

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Assists, coordinates, and may plan leisure programs, activities, exercise classes, and special events for older adults in an assisted living residence.

  • Encourages resident participation, reports changes in residents mood and physical status.

  • Promotes independence and helps develop socialization

  • May help escort residents to activities outside of senior living community

  • Other duties as assigned by Activities Director



  • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft /computer programs.

  • Ability to interact effectively and empathetically with senior living residents/tenants.

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be comfortable leading activities with elderly residents.


  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, but willing to consider others with the right aptitude and/or previous related work experience.

  • One to three years previous experience either; working with the elderly, leading activities, or working in a therapy or recreation role preferred or have formal related education.

  • Preference given to candidates with previous experience with memory loss care.

  • Work experience in a customer service setting.

Vaccination Update

As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the wellbeing of our teams and to provide a safe and healthy environment for the patients and communities we serve, all Ebenezer employees will be required to receive both an annual flu vaccination and the COVID-19 vaccination series. Current employees must have completed both vaccination schedules on or before January 4, 2022.

Any new hires who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to receive their first dose prior to their start date and their second dose (if receiving Moderna or Pfizer vaccines) within 4 weeks of their start date. Annual flu vaccinations are also required before the employment start date for employees who begin employment during the flu season. Accommodations requests will be reviewed on an individual basis.
