JOB DESCRIPTION Millwright Physical Location: Lock & Dam 5, 12554 Highway 61, Minnesota City, MN 55959-9756 Department: Construction Job Requirements: Minimum Experience: 1 Year of Millwright related Ability to pass drug test Ability to pass Workwell test and meet minimum required lifting requirements Must possess a current driver s license with acceptable driving record Be familiar with or have the ability to follow US Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1 and OSHA Safety Regulations Job Description: Millwright opportunity located at a US Army Corps of Engineers managed dam facility As a leading full service, Public Works & Specialized Projects General Contractor we recognize that it takes a group of highly talented and motivated individuals, working together to achieve outstanding results through technical quality and tremendous service. Summary of Position: Millwright for a Dam gates rehabilitation project performed seasonally between April 1st to November 30th in 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 Duties/Responsibilities: Demolition, Installation, maintenance, repair, alteration, dismantle, reassembly and alignment of the dam roller gate end shields, hatch covers, seals, clamp bars and any other similar machinery, components, or equipment. This work will be done using specialized tools including, but not limited to, specialized measuring equipment, angle grinders, die grinders, precision drills, precision cutting equipment, planers or other resurfacing equipment, rivet busters, impact wrenches and welding machines Demolition, Installation and or repair of structural steel Welding of new structural steel components and weld repairs to existing steel structures Any and all additional tasks assigned Qualifications: Must be able to work in team environment Has proficiency or will develop proficiency in Construction Safety including but not limited to OSHA 1926 & 1910 and EM 385 1-1. Has the ability to adapt to changes quickly Strong communication skills Ability and willingness to travel Familiar with the AWS D1.1 and D1.5 Welding Code and Procedures Experience using fall protection Flexibility in working hours, and ability and willingness to work extended hours Able to work at heights Ability to obtain Badging for Access to Military Installations a plus, although not required Compensation: Hourly Rate and Fringe Based on Prevailing Davis Bacon Wage Rates ($38.00 base + $26.78 fringes) Health Benefits Prevailing Wage Pension Plan Full Time 40 to 60 Hours per Week Applications and resumes must meet the minimum experience requirements and must include at least three employer references.
