This is a 50%, 12-month, non-tenure track position. The University of Minnesota encourages a healthy work life balance for employees. The individual hired will be appointed to a temporary 50%, 12-month, position during the 2024-2025 academic year. This position is immediately available with an anticipated start date of August 2024. The position will be responsible for developing and delivering training and recruitment materials for the Parent and Family Education and Early Childhood Education programs. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Job Responsibilities Recruitment and Outreach Development (40%) Manage all aspects of creating recruitment videos for Parent and Family Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education programs to attract prospective students Develop outreach materials including, creating visuals, information sheets and social media graphics to complement videos and provide additional information about programs Create a timeline with milestones and deadlines for each stage of project and identify target audiences and key messages for recruitment videos and outreach Select alumni and other stakeholders to feature in videos, with a focus on increasing the representation of rural and BIPOC early childhood educators in the early childhood field Coordinate feedback sessions with stakeholders and make necessary revisions to videos and materials Work with department communications liaison to produce, review, edit and format and distribute videos and materials for appropriate platforms and distribution channels Collaborate with the PFE, ECE, and ECSE programs to ensure videos and outreach materials address targeted recruitment needs and outcomes Mentorship Training Development (30%) Create training and professional development resources for current and prospective educator mentors working with students, including guidelines, tutorials, information sheets and other materials Coordinate and lead training sessions for PFE program's current mentorship program educators to orient them to program, assess mentorship progress, provide professional development, and review and revise training materials Organize feedback discussions with educator mentors and program staff to review and improve mentorship materials Work with department communications liaison and program staff to post resources on appropriate University websites Grant Tracking and Coordination (30%) Monitor and manage scholarship awards and grant outcomes in collaboration with Parent and Family Education team Maintaining accurate records of grant data and related documentation Track evaluation of grant according to award contract term Review expenditures to ensure all spending complies with grant guidelines and expectations Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS in Family Education, Early Childhood Education and or Early Childhood Special Education and 3 or more years of related professional experience. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines Strong understanding of early childhood teaching field and recruitment needs Ability to develop and deliver training and outrea h materials in ways that effectively account for a variety of diverse backgrounds, communities, identities, and abilities Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree Current Minnesota Teaching License in Parent and Family Education and experience teaching in Early Childhood Family Education Background in recruitment and training development Evidence of a commitment to the development of learning materials or environments Experience working within blended and/or completely online environments About the Department Department Overview The Department of Family Social Science (FSoS) prepares students to use research to discover and apply knowledge, build interpersonal communication skills, and develop personally and professionally.
