Actalent Structural Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Title: Structural EngineerJob Description

In this role, you will research, analyze, and solve structural deficiencies involving high-rises, historical buildings, parking structures, plazas, building envelopes, water-retention structures, tunnels, and bridges. You will also be responsible for providing forensic investigation, behavior evaluation, repair design and budgeting, preparation of reports, repair documents, and construction administration. You will evaluate, assess, and devise a plan of action.

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze, and solve structural deficiencies in various structures.

  • Conduct forensic investigations and behavior evaluations.

  • Design and budget repair solutions.

  • Prepare reports, repair documents, and administer construction.

  • Evaluate, assess, and devise plans of action for structural issues.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in restoration, forensic engineering, structural engineering, and building envelopes.

  • Registered professional engineer or ability to obtain a professional license.

  • 5+ years of experience in forensics, restoration, and/or building envelope fields.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, structural analysis, and design.

  • Willingness to travel within the Chicago area with occasional regional travel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong restoration experience and superior problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

  • Effective communication skills both in writing and verbally with decision-makers at all levels.

  • Highly resourceful, self-directed, and strong time management skills.

  • Proven leadership abilities, self-initiation, and reliance.
