_SUMMARY_ We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Inpatient Float Pool unit.

This position is a 0.8 FTE (8 shifts/ pay period), 8-hour shifts, Nights, Every Other Weekend.

This specific opening is to primarily support theMed/Surg/Tele/Pediatrics/OB/NICU Inpatient Float Pool Teamhowever this position may be floated to other units based on staffing needs and RN training.

The team will float to medicine, orthopedic, surgical/trauma/neuro, cardiac/renal, medical and surgical intermediate care, observation, rehab, Pediatrics, OB/GYN and NICU units.

_RESPONSIBILITIES_ Within the context of the Hennepin County Medical Center "Centered Around You" Patient & Family Centered Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: * Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health * Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care * Alleviating suffering through nursing interventions and prescribed treatments * Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others * Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care * Educating patient on their disease process * Assuring continuity of care * Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6 months of current professional nursing (RN) experience
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in area of clinical specialty
• BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
