This position is responsible for the specification, procurement, setup, and maintenance of computing infrastructure for a research data center equipped with high cpu core count and large memory servers using RAID & ZFS data storage, NVidia data center class multi-GPUs with NVLink bridges, and robotic DLT tape libraries. This position maintains high standards of customer service and assists in providing high-level technical support regarding security technologies for securing the network and data. Job Responsibilities: - Provide Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL) server infrastructure support, including configure, install, monitor, upgrade, maintain and retire IT systems software, hardware, and servers. - --- --- Maintain operating efficiency and stability, security and integrity of all data and systems. - Configure and maintain NVidia data center GPU based simulation computer clusters running in a slurm resource management environment. - Plan, design, test and schedule the release and updates of all research software. - Support complex scientific software pipelines, including implementing, maintaining and reviewing python and Matlab based scripts. - Develop security processes to configure, monitor, test and maintain firewall configurations, vulnerability management (Qualys) and OS logs. - Performs administration of basic user access, optimizes remote access and security access. - Provide resolution to incidents and problems, including the creation of post-mortem documentation, detailed root cause analysis, and process modification in response to service outages and failures. - Align to change management processes and standards and follow those procedures when making any changes. - Maintain, network plan, and manage administration of console host workstations for real-time data acquisition from laboratory scientific equipment, including firewall schema for an all fiber optic network. Required Qualifications: - Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science and 4 years of relevant experience in research settings OR a master's degree and 2 years of experience. - Experience executing highly complex or specialized projects and administration in a research environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication. - Experience with OS Deployment and Configuration Automation (Ansible, yum, rpm, php, bash, csh). - Experience with Firewalls (Fortinet FortiManager, firewalld, iptables). - Experience with Networking (NFS, SMB/Samba, DHCP, sendmail, DNS, VRF, DMARK/DKIM, Shibboleth, DICOM). - Experience with Database and Website (MariaDB, PHP, HTTP/CSS). - Experience with Identity and Access Management (LDAP, DUO, SASL, PAM, SSSD, VPN/Grouper, AD). - Experience with Virtual Environments (Docker, Singularity). - Experience with UNIX (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu). - Experience with IT Security (Splunk, etc.). - Experience with High Performance computing (CUDA, PyTorch, TensorFlow, slurm).
