GENERAL FUNCTION As an applications development subject matter expert, provide advanced programming, analysis and consulting services to Walman divisions, departments, vendors and customers ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Analyze, configure, design, develop, test and support commercial and internally developed applications/systems. Position requires intermittent travel, less than 15% of the time. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform business and technical analysis to ensure thorough understanding of business, integration, enhancement and maintenance requests Define and document detailed business and technical design specifications Develop, test, debug and support applications that achieve business objectives Understand, develop and implement all aspects of data management and transfer using commercial applications, SFTP and internally developed methods Write and maintain documentation for use and support of application programs in accordance with company standards. Develop an understanding of business operations and provide business process and technical expertise to users and management as a principal technical resource (SME) Resolve complex user and applications issues expeditiously as a second-level support resource for the IS Help Desk for internally developed and commercial applications Monitor and maintain commercial and internally developed applications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS BS Degree in Computer Science and 5-years work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience accompanied Detailed knowledge of full-cycle multi-tier application development/configuration including C#, Java Script, TSQL Experiences in Commercial, multi-tier application maintenance, support and problem resolution Knowledge of Microsoft environments (Operating Systems, Azure and Microsoft 365) Experience in Microsoft SQL Server including database design and performance optimization Successful performance in advanced systems analysis, design and development techniques Project planning and management Working knowledge of commercial applications including Square9, Erwin, Git source control Data integration/transport methods (SFTP, ODBC, JSON, XML, EDI, CSV and fixed record) General infrastructure knowledge including network and virtualization concepts Oral and written communication skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Requires intermittent travel, less than 15% of the time The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
