ABOUT YOU:

This role leads and participates in current state assessments, requirements gathering and future state design. Incumbents define business processes and systems requirements to solve highly complex business problems and prepare detailed documentation from which systems and applications will be implemented. Incumbents are responsible for leading the analysis for all types of application projects and provide direction on design solutions and functionality decisions. Duties may also include instructing and directing the work of more junior business analysts, and incumbents may be expected to perform as a project manager for smaller and less complex business requests. In addition to generic Senior Business Analyst responsibilities, this position will work closely with cross-functional teams from Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Jostens manufacturing plants to improve and support applications critical to product catalog management, new product setups, order processing and order fulfillment.

YOU HAVE:

  • Technical skills. Working knowledge of Oracle (or similar large ERP vendor) financial applications. Understanding of configurations and setups for ERP financial applications. Working knowledge of SQL query tools with the ability to create new queries and extract data for management reporting. Knowledge of systems analysis and/or design activities. Knowledge of systems analysis and/or design activities. Knowledge of basic project management techniques with the ability to lead smaller projects. Strong analytical ability to research systems issues and/or process solutions to solve complex business problems. Knowledge of business management concepts, techniques and functions. Ability to create functional and systematic diagrams and flowcharts using standard industry software. Have a thorough understanding of business or function for which systems and applications will be designed. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions. Proficient in conducting gap analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments related to order management systems. Working knowledge of SQL and reporting tools to extract and analyze order-related data is a plus.

  • Agility. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology. Ability to work in a demanding user environment and manage multiple project and support tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies for project management and system development.

  • Order management. Strong understanding of order management processes, including product catalogs, order entry, order fulfillment and shipping.

  • Great communication skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to write, maintain and present reports, requirements, user procedures and testing documentation in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team, as well as work with confidential material and information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Experience. 3-5+years of related work experience. Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst, preferably with a focus on customer service and order management applications (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Salesforce Service Cloud, etc.).

  • Education. Four-year college diploma or university degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.

    YOU WILL:

  • Update and maintain. Implementation of systems and applications that align with Jostens architecture and standards. Devise or modify systems and/or business procedures to solve complex problems to achieve desired results. Outline thorough testing requirements of programs and business processes to ensure accuracy and integrity during and after implementation. Act as the subject matter expert for Jostens product catalog and order management systems and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for end users.

  • Develop. Consult with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures and problems. Create requirements document, functional specification documents, unit and integrated test scenario documents, flowcharts and other relevant artifacts necessary for implementation of IT solutions. Provide detailed requirements documentation to developers and IT technical staff from which new and enhanced systems applications will be written. Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Jostens manufacturing plants to understand business processes, challenges, and opportunities related to order management.

  • Advise. Perform other related responsibilities as assigned, to assist IT management on other activities as necessary. Provide accurate and effective training and analytic expertise to other less experienced IT employees. Instruct and coach business users in order to meet project testing and implementation objectives.

  • Strengthen. Convert business problems to logical flow diagrams for identifying improvement opportunities. Serve as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT development teams to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of capturing and fulfilling orders and implementing new products and sales initiatives at Jostens. Define and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements for system changes and new functionalities related to order management applications. Develop user guides, process documentation, and training materials to facilitate the adoption of new system features. Help manage and prioritize the backlog of enhancements and support issues for Jostens order management applications.

  • Help. Provide support for implementation as needed, including potential on-call support that may be outside of normal work hours. Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to validate that system changes meet business requirements.

  • Grow. Remain knowledgeable of current and new technology related to all aspects of information processing by researching technical materials, attending seminars and training classes and consulting with personnel from other industries.

  • Typical/expected % of overnight travel. None to limited.
