Position Purpose:

The Senior Talent Management Consultant focuses in the following areas of Sleep Number’s Talent Management practice: Performance Management, Goal Setting, Talent & Succession Planning, Competency Modeling, and Career Pathing & Mobility as member of the Organizational Development team. This role serves as a talent management subject matter expert with a focus on identifying talent insights and data to support strategy. In this role, you will lead Sleep Number’s talent management practice including the management of Sleep Number’s enterprise individual development program, serve as a consultant and key internal partner in support of talent planning and succussion planning annual mechanisms for the enterprise, as well as lead the advancement the competency model framework. This role aligns Sleep Number talent management priorities and the Human Resources (HR) roadmap in collaboration with HR Business Partners, HR COE leaders and other business leaders to enhance and develop Talent Management programs and capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performance Management and Goal Setting: advancement of the capability and roadmap, planning, execution, and advancement of the processes, and resource development for team members and leaders.

  • Talent and Succession Planning: reimagining of the capability and roadmap, planning and execution of the processes, and resource development for team members and leaders.

  • See Your Future: overall build, sustainability, and ongoing vision for the outcomes/output of the program.

  • Competency Modeling: continued evolution and advancement of our competency model framework. Integration of the model into cyclical processes, and campaign and communications activities for sustainability.

  • Career Pathing and Mobility: develop and implement lasting frameworks that bring clarity, transparency, and guidance for team members and leaders on how to grow at Sleep Number.

    Position Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in talent management, human resources, human resource development, organizational effectiveness and/or learning and development

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Human Resources Development, Organizational Development, Psychology, related field or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree is a plus

  • Program/project management and change management experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of talent management theory and practice

  • Research ability to uncover and recommend best practices and leading edge practices

  • Strong interpersonal savvy, balancing stakeholders, communicates effectively, collaborates, and ensures accountability

  • Comfortable around all levels of management and confidence in influencing leadership and driving results

  • Ability to manage projects, from planning through delivery

  • Strong business acumen with results orientation to align with business strategy and drive performance

  • Self-starter and self-directed
