Ameriprise Financial Senior Manager, Business Research Analyst - Ameriprise Premier Retirement Income (R24_0000000522) in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The position will be responsible for supporting and working on the Ameriprise Premier Retirement Income's advanced income modeling engine capabilities. This includes delivering new income modeling features, enhancing existing ones, ongoing testing, bug fixes and maintenance of the engine. It also entails working with key business partners, investment research and technology stakeholders for review, approval and execution of new and existing algorithms and methodologies. Key Responsibilities Work with Ameriprise Premier Retirement Income (APRI) Research team to spec out key features, enhancements to APRI engine. Research and design proof of concept for each feature /functionality including determination of algorithm to satisfy scope. Serve as a subject matter expert in key functional areas of APRI modeling engine. Develop detailed requirements and stories to translate functional requirement into technical specs and stories. Conduct thorough Testing and release of new features / updates to APRI engine. Take ownership of key components of the APRI engine and ensure accuracy. Lead discovery and design sessions to define, document, and prioritize product / modeling requirements. Contribute to project plan and manage deliverables. Develop user acceptance test plan for APRI capabilities. Contribute to implementation planning and post-implementation tracking. Execute test plans and test cases on a scheduled and ad hoc basis. Provide effective communication on project status, risks, and defects with Project owners and stakeholders. Effectively communicate, secure inputs and approvals from internal stakeholders including Investment Research Group (IRG), business and technology partners. Identify business needs or opportunities for improvement through either broad industry knowledge, or detailed knowledge of specific income products, services, or processes. * Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree; RICP, CFA or additional professional qualifications beneficial. 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally working within the financial services sector. Prior industry experience in Retirement Income planning tools and product solutions. Self-starter and can work independently in a matrixed organization. Great communication skills: both written and verbal and experience creating detailed methodology documentation. Candidate must have proven project management/business systems analyst skills; with project methodology and project lifecycle experience. This includes working knowledge of Visio and Quality Center Track record of successful completion of business analysis (as is process flows, to-be process flows, business, and user requirements) Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to produce effective recommendations to senior management. Strong critical thinking skills Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong interpersonal and communication skills that provide the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external constituents Ability to analyze data with attention to detail and draw meaningful insights Ability to interrelate and understand complex issues across multiple disciplines Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects concurrently
