The Sr. Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) leads the people, financial, and business operations for peri-operative services within the UMN Health Clinics and Surgery Center. In collaboration with the ASC Medical Director, develops and implements department goals and objectives, perioperative policies and procedures, and oversees budgets and financial performance. Collaborates to develop and implement plans and tactics for strategic growth and operational and clinical excellence. Ensures services are provided in accordance with professional, regulatory and accrediting standards, and that customers are the focus of all operational and business activities, and that employee engagement is the essential ingredient within all efforts. Ensures a safe environment for patients and staff with a goal of zero harm. What you will do: Leads people, and values the uniqueness within and respects the differences between individuals. Helps others understand and respond to the financial status of the ASC and CSC as a whole Develops the budget and manages within budget parameters. Analyzes the work within and between units, departments, and services. Provides the vision that takes into account the larger picture Uses systems thinking to understand the unintended consequences of decisions Continuously implements strategies to improve customer satisfaction. Establishes zero tolerance for preventable, identifiable situations to remain unchecked, unchanged. Oversees and educates staff on safety initiatives, including departmental, entity and system driven initiatives. Uses clinical quality data to drive the staff clinical competencies and promotes progression from novice to expert level. Utilizes market place analysis in responding to growth and service needs of the communities we serve. What you will need: Master's degree in Nursing, Business or Health Care Administration. Ten years progressive healthcare delivery experience. Previous peri-operative experience. At least 5 years management experience. Computer literacy and knowledge of future impact of computerization of Ambulatory Surgery Center. Ability to analyze and synthesize a broad range of data elements. Ability to work effectively with and integrate interests of multiple disciplines. Preferred qualifications: Previous free standing ASC experience. Current licensure as RN in state of MN.
