Bump Position Summary: Co-lead all aspects of the Voyageurs Wolf Project. Lead and assist in wolf capture, processing, and collaring. Lead and assist in wolf, beaver, habitat data collection, organization, and entry; scat collection and processing; field and flight surveys; sample collection and processing; all aspects of remote camera trapping; field support for media crews and visiting VIPs; and other project needs as they arise. Lead and assist in equipment purchase and maintenance as needed. Lead and assist manuscript preparation, permit requirements, report writing, grant writing, and presentation preparation is also required. Participation in Conservation Science Graduate Program, e.g. guest lecture, field demonstration, as requested. Job Duties: (60%) Field research and research administration. (20%) Manuscript writing. (10%) Outreach and teaching. (10%) Grant writing and fund raising. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Conservation Science or related field. Postdoctoral experience. Experience leading all aspects of research on wild wolves. Demonstrated success in scientific publishing. Demonstrated success in mentoring graduate students. Demonstrated success in fund raising. Experience and expertise with ecosystems of north-central Minnesota, USA. Preferred Qualifications: Leadership experience in all field work aspects of the Voyageurs Wolf Project. Experience with wolf capture, processing, and collaring. Extensive experience with fine scale GPS cluster searching. Experience with science communication via social media.
