Our goal is to discover ways to therapeutically target aging, which will extend healthspan. Primaryresponsibilities: Specifictechnical/bench-workresearch (60%): Experiment design and breeding to generate mouse cohorts of specific genetic strains. Mouse handling, including ip injections, survival surgery and tissue harvest. Independent data analysis and presentation of final results Keep detailed records of all experiments and procedures in laboratory notebooks, databases, spreadsheets, and web-based applications. Generallaboratorymanagementduties(30%): Preparemedia,enzymes, andsolutionsundersterileconditionsinlargequantities. Work underthe Lab Manager to manage day to day laboratory operations by coordinating shipping and receiving, ordering supplies, inventory updates and general laboratory organization Followestablishedbiological,chemicalandphysical safetyproceduresandtrainnewpersonnel Otherduties asassigned(10%): Helpmonitorandtrainundergraduatestudentworkers. Requirestheability toworkoccasionalweekendhours * This is a 75%-time position. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years Extensive experience with mice, in all areas of their use for experiments.
