Description The Raw Material Inventory Control Planner is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of inventory management for all raw materials used in production. This role aims to optimize inventory levels, ensure material availability, minimize carrying costs, and maintain data accuracy in inventory tracking systems. The role of a Raw Material Inventory Control Planner involves managing the inventories of raw materials required for production processes, ensuring efficient turnover, and reducing waste while maintaining an adequate supply for uninterrupted production. Job duties: Develop and maintain raw material inventory policies and procedures to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs. Analyze production schedules and forecasts to determine raw material requirements. Partner with Direct Material Procurement to manage lead times, optimize order quantities, and delivery schedules to ensure just-in-time inventory availability. Manage changes to raw materials required to support production by developing transition plans and leading the change process to ensure timely completion. Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to monitor raw material stock levels, track usage, and anticipate reordering needs. Identify and partner with the warehouse team to resolve discrepancies between physical inventory and system data. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to manage inbound shipments and ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials. Work with the Quality Control and Planning teams to align raw material availability with manufacturing schedules. Manage and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to raw material inventory, such as turnover rates, obsolescence, and service levels. Facilitate communication between departments to proactively address potential inventory shortages or excesses. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory efficiency, reduce waste, and support sustainability goals. Support budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed raw material inventory projections. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and compliance with safety and handling standards for raw material storage. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Proven experience in inventory control, supply chain, or materials planning. Detailed knowledge of raw materials used within the company's manufacturing processes. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Excellent communication and coordination abilities, able to work with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets. Demonstrated detail-orientation with a focus on accuracy and precision. Proactive in identifying issues and developing solutions. Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
