Sherwin-Williams Co. QUALITY- Plant Technical Services Representative III in Minneapolis, Minnesota
This position on the Industrial Plant Technical Services (PTS) team will support the General Industrial Powder Division and serves as the primary liaison between Global Supply Chain manufacturing sites and their associated Technical Control Labs. The position primarily will interact with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, IT, and Marketing. Manufacturing sites serviced by this position include Arlington, Grimsby, Ontario, Rockford, and Grove City. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships. * Maintain courteous and prompt written and verbal communication with Technical and Manufacturing at the local, regional, and divisional levels. * Lead the resolution of manufacturing, quality, and technical issues using Continuous Improvement tools, including Six Sigma and Accelerated Root Cause (ARC). * Drive processes to ensure successful commercialization of new formulas and major reformulations. * Coordinate new product test batch and pipeline scheduling and execution. * Support the consolidation of slow-moving, low volume or obsolete raw material and finished goods. * Manage projects to improve Industrial Plant quality metrics including DPTO, Out-of-Spec Approvals, and Off-Formula Adds. * Provide business leadership to implement quality related IT systems. * Lead key manufacturing quality programs like Opportunity Rex and the New Formula Introduction (NFI) process. * Provide on-site training and support to manufacturing site quality departments and associated control labs. * Participate in the implementation of IT systems and applications. * Lead product transfers between sites and support the integration of acquisition sites. * Ensure Quality Standard compliance through quality audits and develop/update Quality Standards. * Communicate raw material consolidations, new formula installations, mass changes and rework plans. * Other Duties as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status. * Bachelor's Degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field. * 3+ years of quality, manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, or regulatory experience. * Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with stakeholders. * Experience managing a diverse portfolio of services, objectives, and projects. * Ability to lead autonomously and make independent decisions. * Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification. * Experience leading ARC investigations and Continuous Improvement projects. * Ability to effectively interact and build relationships across multiple levels of management and technical personnel.
